Perimeters reusable hoarding plays its part in Hall for Cornwall revival

Perimeters reusable hoarding has been given a leading role in the ambitious refurbishment of Hall for Cornwall in the Cornish cathedral city of Truro. A compact and challenging site The site presented many of the challenges typical of building in the centre of a city. The historic cultural landmark is sited in a busy pedestrian area in central Truro.  The developer, Kier, needed a location to place their offices and site welfare facilities adjacent to the building without adversely impacting neighbouring businesses that would stay open throughout the period of the works. Further...

Reusable hoarding at renaissance Trevenson Gateway

What does responsible development look like?  Maybe Trevenson Gateway provides an answer: reuse. A reused site secured with reusable hoarding. The waste hierarchy places reuse above recycling in the action we should take to minimise waste. And re-use is what the Trevenson Gateway is all about. An old industrial site has been brought back to life. A true renaissance.  With the unanimous backing of the local Carn Brea Parish Council, a long derelict industrial site is reborn. A Travelodge Hotel, a Marston's pub, and a KFC and Costa coffee will soon provide service and...

Innovative hoarding solution at Exeter landmark

The Royal Clarence Hotel Exeter has been a site of innovation for more than 250 years.  The business was the first English accommodation provider to name their establishment "Hotel".  And this Hotel is a landmark in Exeter's Cathedral Yard.  Sadly, in 2016,  fire devastated the building.  Only a shell of the outer walls and the facade were left standing.  In summer 2018, Kier Construction began what is scheduled to be a multi year project to bring cutting edge function back to the building.  But even before work began on the building,...

Perimeters hoarding keeping the public safe at Bodmin Jail

Hoarding to keep the public safe at Bodmin Jail

Keeping the public safe was the historic function of Bodmin Jail.  Perimeters is taking over that function on the site. Bodmin Jail is home to a popular tourist attraction that explores the history of the site including "ghost walks".  In addition, the imposing architecture is backdrop to a busy functions business, hosting weddings and conferences.   When Bam Ritchies began planning the £30m redevelopment of the site, they wanted a way to safely segregate their development area from the public as all current businesses would continue to operate during the development.  Perimeters...

Good looking hoarding keeps tills ringing

Perimeters is the safest hoarding for public interface areas

Hoarding's role is always to keep the public away from the active area of a construction site.  A "live" commercial site demands additional considerations.  When ISG asked Perimeters to provide hoarding for their refurbishment of the Morrisons at Plymstock, assurance that the end clients' business could continue as normal  was built in. An especially rigorous approach must be taken to managing risks of the public interface at a "live" commercial site.  The assumption has to be that members of the public will be present in close proximity throughout the installation, use...
